Samsung i900 Omnia or s8000 Jet?
I will be buying a new phone, and I am still confused between the two.

Is the windows mobile OS on omnia worth having (albeit the weird 240×400 resolution)or can I live with just java apps/games?

Are there really cool/fun games on java or they are practically the same with the games on Winmo in terms of graphics?

How is the handwriting recognition speed and touchscreen feedback? Can I write complete sentences or do I have to write every single letter?

Does having a 480×800 AMOLED screen on the jet really outshines the 240×400 TFT LCD of the omnia? does having a 240×400 look ugly with pretty obvious pixels on the screen in omnia?

What makes Jet or Omnia better than the other?

Sorry for the questions but both are really nice phones, I love everything about Samsung jet but having no OS is really a MAJOR drawback. I want customizability and a wide array of applications.
If only I could afford the Omnia II then I wont be having this hard dilemma. xD

The resistive touch surface can get take some time if you are already in use with a capacitive screen. A resistive type screen has a little bit, against the hard glass of a capacitive screen. The advantage is that you can use a stylus on a resistive screen (or fingernail, for that matter). However, I found the response of the screen to a little disappointing. The haptic feedback reminds me of the sound of a hard drive makes when seeking, and the screen flutters when scrolling through menus. Speaking of menus, Samsung gave them “bounce” a bit like an iPhone, Blackberry or Android, but somehow managed to feel that this somewhat bulky.

Software
I like that Samsung TouchWiz go 2.0 has interface with Windows Mobile 6.5. It offers some simplification and streamlining of certain functions, such as a multi-page home screen, messaging, images, and the Samsung store widget. The Task Switcher, you can easily see what is open and close, you just need. TouchWiz is a nice addition to the standard WM interface. However, if the HTC TouchFlo I think HTC has compared a slightly better job. As the name implies, Flos it a little better.

TouchWiz is also responsible for the 3D cube. This 6-sided multi-media interface for viewing various media applications for the user maintained. I really like to use Swype, but if you prefer, there are other options, like a character typist to write letters and gestures, and the standard keyboard withSamsung T9. Note that it was the space bar began to move in landscape mode only when using the left Swype.

Browser
Included is Opera 9.5. This is a great browser that works wonderfully. A simple double-click tap zooms, while the other zooms out again. Tabs are easily accessible pages must be made quickly, and browsing feels seamless.

When viewing images, you are given the opportunity to set the image as wallpaper, set it as a contact picture, edit the image, crop, including options, color balance, adjust the contract, Rotate / Flip, and set the image in black and white, negative, or sepia.

The camera can also shoot video in a 720×480 MPEG4 format. The videos it also takes quite good.

Other thoughts
I am a bit disturbed that Samsung put the lock button on the right side of the phone. Once you press the button, you will see the screen very briefly, then you are shown to unlock screen. To unlock the screen, simply touch the unlock icon. There is no gesture to do so. Moreover, since it is a resistive touch screen, something could potentially, the Unlock button. Given these shortcomings, I see a lot of pocket dialing and / or a premature dead battery.

I think I want that Samsung have a back button would be somewhere. The large button in the center functions as the Windows key. The Quit button always brings you back to the Home screen. Most of the time if you want to go back, you have the window open is to close with the X in the upper right means.

The 8 GB internal memory is great! This will be used only for media. I wish more than 186MB will be used for programs.

I think that’s Omnia II, a great improvement over the original Omnia. The addition of TouchWiz was a wise decision, and it works fine with WM 6.5. I feel a little more attention could go into the layout of the buttons and the way the menus are “feeling”, but overall Samsung has done a wonderful job on this phone. The camera, web browsing and easy integration with Exchange and Outlook to make it a great phone. Enterprise users will appreciate its features.

This phone is not for you if you want a hardware QWERTY keyboard. Not immediately dismiss Omnia II, because the on-screen keyboard though. Try the Swype function. If you are a fan of Windows Mobile, then this is your cell phone.

Be sure to take a look at the Blackberry and the Motorola Storm2 Droid, as they may be alternatives.

If you are a world in need Phone (GSM / CDMA), do not need a 5MP camera, no matter with WM 6.1, but still want a hardware keyboard can be found on the HTC Touch Pro2 (or) the Tilt other networks.
